After a full-on few days in Vegas, head right into the desert and visit Joshua Tree for serene landscapes and stunning hiking trails. Joshua Tree is known for its incredible rock formations, but if you’ve never experienced the American desert before, you’re in for a treat. Hiking in Joshua Tree is on a whole other level, forcing you to slow down and be at one with nature. Grab an Airbnb miles away from civilisation for the best views of the stars and to really capture the spiritual vibes.

What is there to do here? Hike and immerse yourself in nature! There are no attractions as such in Joshua tree, but there are some must-do hikes.

Joshua Tree National Park is set in the Californian desert and is only accessible by car. It is about a three-hour drive from Las Vegas.

• Always be prepared. Dress for the weather and pack plenty of water and snacks – and ensure your car is always topped up with gas.
• Remember: Joshua Tree is MASSIVE and likely bigger than you expected. Once we arrived to the park, it took us an additional hour to drive to where we wanted to be inside the park. Plan ahead for extra driving time.
• Consider doing a sunrise or sunset hike – the colours of the sky during these times are certainly worth the early wake-up call (or late night)
• Take a break from technology (if you can do so in a safe way, that won’t get you lost!). There’s little need for mobile phones in this beautiful national park.
